Rainer has become skillful in wearing different hats in his career spanning various sectors in both his native Germany and in Ireland. Journalism, Customer Service, Financial Services, Telecoms and Travel; local newspapers, national titles and a news agency; AOL, Google and Bertelsmann. However, his lightbulb moment for COWORKATIONERS came while going back in time to a stage when Telecoms and Travel came together – but not in a good way!
Working as a Pre Sales Coordinator for a small Irish Telecoms company Rainer was one of six employees to attend the important Cebit Trade Show in Hannover. A lot of money was spent on flights, train-tickets, accommodation and on a joint-Ireland-stand, but unfortunately a lot of time was spent at that very stand waiting for things to happen. Overall not a very productive experience with a low return on the investment. This let Rainer to suggesting a new approach for Trade Shows to Management which was gladly adopted for future participations. Months ahead of the event attendees were researched and matched with the company’s various applications, application notes were eMailed and meetings at the Trade Show were subsequently pre-arranged.
