We are finally going full circle! The idea behind COWORKATIONERS got stuck in my head at a tradeshow in Hannover in Germany decades ago. Then the idea was translated into a valuable service for our clients in our office in County Mayo in Ireland. And now we have an office in Germany, too.
The office is located at the Gründerschmiede in Remscheid near Cologne, a buzzing Startup-Hub and Coworking Space in the heart of the city. The great thing about a Hub like this is that you can always call upon someone sitting in the office next to you, the big Coworking area, the onsite Startup-Consultant or “Gründermutti” (“Foundermom”) Nicole, the CEO of the Gründerschmiede, if you are stuck with something. As a Founder and Businessowner you are often stuck in a silo and you might think that what you are working on is great anyway. But I prefer to have someone have a look at the stuff and give me an honest opinion. I just love a Devil’s Advocate!
Furthermore, connections are already being made between clients in Germany and Ireland and the Gründerschmiede. Nicole has a network of female entrepreneurs in Remscheid as well as in the neighbouring cities of Solingen and Wuppertal, and COWORKATIONERS recently facilitated a call with EMPOWER, a female entrepreneurship programme in Ireland. Plans are afoot to visit each other and learn from each other in 2026. Project Bay, a great partner of ours in the area of Workation, has its own Startup Accelerator called “Founders Bay”. Having started at the Project Bay HQ at the Baltic Sea in Northern Germany, Founders Bay will now go national, and we are looking at a pitching-event at the Gründerschmiede. Additionally, Founders Bay is interested in links to Startup-ecosystems in Ireland, something we are of course happy to facilitate.
